Astrology Events

May 20th and June 4th, 2012. Its that time of the year again! Eclipses occur twice a year and usually come in pairs. Our upcoming eclipses, consisting of an annular solar eclipse in Gemini and a partial lunar eclipse in Sagittarius, will be rather mild compared to previous ecliptic events. Eclipses bring changes. Even though our eclipses may be mild, there will be other stellar events, including Venus’ retrograde and an outer planet square, that could amplify these changes. May 15th through June 27th, 2012. Venus is a bright star that can presently be seen in the western sky shortly after sundown. Get out and take a look before she is gone, because over the next few weeks she will be sinking slowing into the horizon.

Venus is the ruler of love and money, and her retrogrades can slow down and even hault progress in those areas. Venus’ retrograde occurs about every other year, and this time she will be dancing madly backwards in the dynamic sign of Gemini. Gemini loves two of everything, and some of us may actually find ourselves torn between lovers. We may also be more tempted to step out on a committed relationship. Gemini likes variety. Often when a planet is in retrograde, it brings up the past. Its likely that lost loves will return during this time, but with Venus in Gemini, its more likely to be a “booty call,” rather than an opportunity to reunite long term. On March 12th Mercury will be shifting into reverse… again. At the same time we’ll have outer planets singing in Earth signs, and the Sun will be approaching the Vernal Equinox. In fact, we will have so many positive aspects going on, that I’m not sure we will even notice that Mercury has turned retrograde (well… at least we won’t care). These two slow outer planets will be encouraging positive transformation. We may find we accumulate a new possession or two, or we may notice our bank accounts swelling. Mars rules action, energy, and sex. When Mars is in retrograde, things we initiate tend to end up much differently than we intended.
